Participation Waiver and Code of Conduct

1. Eligibility & voluntary participation

I confirm that I am single. I voluntarily choose to participate in pickleball, games, social activities, and other event activities. I will play within my abilities, take breaks as needed, and stop if I feel unwell or unsafe. I will seek medical advice before participating if I have concerns about my ability to participate safely.

2. Acknowledgment & assumption of risk

I understand that participation involves risks, including falls, collisions, being struck by a ball or paddle, muscle strains, joint injuries, exertion-related illness, and other injuries that may be serious or fatal. Risks may arise from court conditions, equipment, other participants, or my own actions. I knowingly and voluntarily accept the risks of participation, including risks that cannot reasonably be anticipated.

3. Release of liability - please read carefully

To the fullest extent permitted by Arizona law, I release the organizers operating as Pickleball Dating and THE PICKLR Scottsdale, and their respective owners, officers, employees, coaches, and volunteers, from claims for personal injury, death, or property damage arising from my participation, including claims based on their ordinary negligence. This release does not apply

to gross negligence, reckless or intentional misconduct, or any liability that cannot legally be waived. I understand that this agreement may affect my legal rights.

4. Code of conduct - connection starts with respect

I agree to treat everyone with courtesy and good sportsmanship; follow staff instructions, court rules, and rotation schedules; and use equipment safely. I will respect personal boundaries and obtain consent before touching, photographing, or sharing another person's contact information. I will accept "no" without pressure. Harassment, discrimination, threats, unwanted sexual

comments or contact, and aggressive behavior are prohibited. I will not play while impaired by alcohol or other substances and will arrange safe transportation if needed. I will promptly report injuries, hazards, or inappropriate behavior to event staff. Staff may stop my participation or require me to leave for unsafe behavior or violations of this code.

5. Alcohol - voluntary consumption & personal responsibility

If I choose to consume alcohol, I do so voluntarily and at my own risk. I understand that alcohol may impair judgment, balance, coordination, and reaction time and increase the risk of injury or illness. I accept the risks associated with my own consumption and am responsible for my conduct. I will not play while impaired or drive under the influence and will arrange safe transportation. This acknowledgment does not waive any liability that cannot legally be waived or excuse unlawful alcohol service.

6. Emergencies & acknowledgment

If I cannot communicate during an emergency, I authorize staff to call emergency services and share information needed for emergency care. I understand that emergency response or medical care is not guaranteed by the organizers. I have read this agreement, understand its terms, and sign voluntarily. Any separate venue waiver may also be required.
